Old Mining Trails

Paul and I went on a beautiful hike in the mountains adjacent to the old mining town Jinguashi. The area has found new life as a tourist destination, but it doesn’t take much to get away from the crowds. Check out the photos:

Paul, my gracious host, overlooks the old mining town Jinguashi on a windy, rocky ledge.

We decided that Paul looked like a 1970s singer-songwriter with his long, unkempt hair.

The previous days in Taiwan were all cloudy. I’m told a hike we did a week before had views that looked like this too.

Paul takes a moment to relax on the way down from our a windy and strenuous hike.

Chris, your photos are always good, but these are spectacular. The first one feels like you are on a mountain above the atmosphere, looking down on Earth like an astronautical hermit.
